One day, at recess, Jimmy asked his friend a question. His friend promptly punched Jimmy in the face. So Jimmy went home to get cleaned up. When he got home, his mother asked him what he was doing there. Jimmy told her he got punched in the face at recess. She asked why he was punched.
"Because I asked what purple roses are."
"Get back to school, we’ll talk about this when you get home," his mother said angrily.
So Jimmy walked back to school, but he was late for class. His teacher asked him why he was late.
"I got punched in the face at recess, so I went home to get cleaned up."
"Why did you get punched in the face?"
"Because I asked what purple roses are."
"Go to the principal’s office. Now."
So Jimmy went to the principal’s office and said, "I got punched in the face at recess, went home to get cleaned up, and was late for class."
"Why were you punched in the face?"
"Because I asked what purple roses are."
"You’re being expelled. Get out."
So Jimmy went home and locked himself in his room until his father got home.
His father asked, "Why were you expelled?"
"Because I got punched in the face at recess, went home to get cleaned up, was late for class, and was sent to the principal’s office."
"Why were you punched in the face?"
"Because I asked what purple roses are."
"Get the heck out of my house. I’m disowning you."
So Jimmy went all over the country, asking whoever he would meet what purple roses were. But everyone got very angry and told him to go away.
Eventually, he asked the president what purple roses were, and the president kicked him out of the country.
So he went to Mexico. The first person he saw in Mexico was a pretty girl. She asked, "Why are you in Mexico."
"Because I got punched in the face at recess, went home to get cleaned up, was late for class, got expelled, got kicked out of my house, then got kicked out of my country."
"Why were you punched in the face at recess?"
"Because I asked what purple roses are."
"Oh," the girl said. "That lady across the street knows what purple roses are. Ask her."
So Jimmy walked across the street, and was hit by a car. Jimmy died before he could find out what purple roses were.
The moral? Look both ways before you cross the street.
